A striking one-of-a-kind cottonwood Kachina sculpture by Navajo artist Jerold Guy. Standing approximately 25½ inches tall, this exceptional piece is crowned with five dramatic hand-carved feathers and features Jerold’s distinctive burned-line patterns with vibrant hand-painted details.

Jerold works with the natural character of the cottonwood, allowing the form of the wood to help shape each individual carving. From every angle, this sculpture reveals something different—from the colorful geometric details on the front and sides to the extensive carved and burned patterns across the back.

About the Artist: Jerold Guy is of the Red House Clan, born for the Bitter Water Clan of the Navajo Nation. Self-taught, he has been creating his distinctive cottonwood carvings since 1991 and especially enjoys creating large-scale pieces
