About the Artwork
These one-of-a-kind monoprints are created by applying oil-based lithographic inks to a clear sheet of plexiglass using rollers and brayers. While the ink is still wet, the artist draws directly into the surface with tools such as a palette knife, pencil, or Q-tips, removing areas of ink to create delicate lines, movement, and shapes.
The plate is then run through an etching press onto 100% rag paper. Because only one print can be pulled from the plate, each piece is completely unique.
After the ink has dried, the artist further enhances the artwork with colored pencils, metallic paints, and gold leaf, adding depth, texture, and luminous detail to the finished piece.
