The Artist's Process
Each artwork is created entirely by hand on a wood panel using layered mixed-media technique.
The process begins by building multiple layers of texture to create remarkable depth and dimension. While the materials remain lightweight, the finished surface is designed to resemble weathered stone, carved rock, and aged architectural elements found throughout the Southwest.
Each piece incorporates a carefully selected combination of materials, including:
- Modeling paste
- Gesso
- Fired ceramic elements
- Acrylic paints
- Artist glazes
- Wood stains
- Protective sealers
Once complete, every artwork is finished with a satin archival varnish that enhances the colors while providing UV protection, long-term durability, and an easy-to-clean surface.
